System Dynamics Approach to TALC Modeling

The system dynamics applied in this research on modeling a tourist destination (area) life cycle (TALC) contributes to understanding its behavior and the way that information feedback governs use of loops, delays stocks flows. On basis, dynamic three-staged TALC model is conceptualized, with number visitors V as an indicator carrying capacities’ flow function V(t) determine stages. In first supply-dominance stage, indicated arrivals are growing until point inflexion. After point, continue (but diminishing growth rates), indicating beginning demand-dominance ending up saturation i.e., maximum visitors. simulated was then five EU destinations (Living Labs) explain their development along observed period (2007–2019). analysis revealed all Living Labs reached second lifecycle one entered early 2015 another 2018.
